海洋生態需要立即性的守護!
本月16日,孟加拉海邊驚現百餘隻海龜,其中,有的已明顯死亡、屍體殘缺不全,部分鰭足或頭部被魚網纏死割斷了;有的奄奄一息、身受重傷。
野生動物救援隊和環保人士獲報到場,估判大量的海龜群在海中就已受困在50噸的垃圾中,接著隨海流潮汐被沖上岸,垃圾量之大…蔓延岸邊好幾公里!環保人士仔細觀察被沖上岸的垃圾,發現有大量的廢棄寶特瓶、棄置漁網、釣魚用具、浮標,以及大量的碎片殘骸,全都是無法分解的人為垃圾。

後來,動保人員試圖將倖存的海龜野放回海中,但沒想到牠們又返回海灘上,動保人員認為,海龜或許已無法再適應滿是垃圾的海洋環境、放棄求生。
然而,整體海洋環境的改善,需要更多人、更大的力量投入,且長期改善與維持,他們現在進行的搶救、醫治行動都僅是有限的力量。

當地環保單位對此感嘆,「這是我們首次看到如此大規模的海龜死傷場面,這是前所未見的!」
