@mattykjordan This is another cool magic trick that can be done in cold temperatures. It was -45°c today (with windchill) so it was absolutely time for more science experiments. This is a great one to do with the kids. Its super easy and just requires Mum or Dad to boil some spaghetti! It’ll obviously take a bit longer to set if you live somewhere that doesnt get extreme cold temperatures, but you can also do this in your freezer anywhere in the world! @mattykjordan I really miss sitting on the deck and having a cup of tea in the morning. Unfortunately, trying to replicate that in Antarctica when it’s -35°c outside isn’t quite the same. The tea freezes, the teabag gets stuck in the water, and the teabag dunker bit freezes solid. Coffee doesn’t fare any better in this environment either. It also wouldn’t take long for it to ice up. Also, it’s dark 24/7 and we won’t see the sun for another 86 days. The days of enjoying a nice warm drink in the sun are a long long way away. ▼雖然天凍讓人覺得很累、很麻煩，但擁有的景色卻是在城市裡面看不到的紫色銀河和極光，這麼美的大自然樣貌，一生一定要看一次啊！
@mattykjordan This is the view in Antarctica, right outside where I live. Every single evening when we have a clear sky, the Milky Way Galaxy is visible in the sky. Also visible is the Aurora Australis or the Southern Lights, which will also occur every night, although the strength and brightness changes each day. The opportunities for star gazing and Astro photography are endless, and I will never get bored standing outside watching nature’s light show. The only thing stopping me from staying outside longer, is the temperature. Most evenings are around -40°c now which does get cold if you’re just standing around. The mountain in the back right is Mount Erebus which is a perpetually erupting volcano. It is one of the world’s only volcanoes that has a permanent lava lake. And I get to see it just about every day. In the front are the Scott Base pressure ridges, which form when the frozen ocean (or sea ice) pushes up against the rocky land where our scientific research station is located. These form stunningly beautiful shapes in the ice. Grateful.
