美國期中選舉在即，除了政治人物努力催票，美國好萊塢藝人也都不避諱的，紛紛在公開場合，或是社交媒體上發文表態，想吸引更多年輕世代的新新人類去投票。根據美國人口調查局統計，2016年的總統大選中，18到29歲的年輕人中，只有18.1%的人有去投票，是所有年齡比例中最低的；但是這次的選舉中，隨著明星加入催票行列，可能會有更多年輕人受到影響，站起來去投票。
綜合外媒報導，許多明星在這次的選舉期間，紛紛挺身出來表達意見，有些人甚至大膽的宣告自己所支持的政黨，要大家動起來，為美國人的未來盡一份心力。其中對2016年總統選舉中，占比例最低的18歲到29歲的人群當中，最有影響力的人應該就屬這些好萊塢明星，有時候明星不僅僅能帶來演出和作品，甚至是成為社會上的一股力量。
演員李奧納多•狄卡皮歐（Leonardo Wilhelm DiCaprio）和布萊德・彼特（William Bradley Pitt）日前也拍攝了一部短片，片中沒有提到任何政黨，但是他們談到了槍枝安全管制、天氣變遷、LGBT團體和移民等問題，要大家不僅僅是參加現在已經開始的事前投票，可以的話在11月6日當天，起身前往投票所投票，為自己發生。
美國歌壇流行小天后泰勒斯（Taylor Swift）9月時，也罕見的在個人IG上，發表自己支持家鄉田納西州民主黨的議員候選人，她說她一直不願意表達政治立場，不過過去兩年中所發生的事，讓她改變想法。
I’m writing this post about the upcoming midterm elections on November 6th, in which I’ll be voting in the state of Tennessee. In the past I’ve been reluctant to publicly voice my political opinions, but due to several events in my life and in the world in the past two years, I feel very differently about that now. I always have and always will cast my vote based on which candidate will protect and fight for the human rights I believe we all deserve in this country. I believe in the fight for LGBTQ rights, and that any form of discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender is WRONG. I believe that the systemic racism we still see in this country towards people of color is terrifying, sickening and prevalent. I cannot vote for someone who will not be willing to fight for dignity for ALL Americans, no matter their skin color, gender or who they love. Running for Senate in the state of Tennessee is a woman named Marsha Blackburn. As much as I have in the past and would like to continue voting for women in office, I cannot support Marsha Blackburn. Her voting record in Congress appalls and terrifies me. She voted against equal pay for women. She voted against the Reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act, which attempts to protect women from domestic violence, stalking, and date rape. She believes businesses have a right to refuse service to gay couples. She also believes they should not have the right to marry. These are not MY Tennessee values. I will be voting for Phil Bredesen for Senate and Jim Cooper for House of Representatives. Please, please educate yourself on the candidates running in your state and vote based on who most closely represents your values. For a lot of us, we may never find a candidate or party with whom we agree 100% on every issue, but we have to vote anyway. So many intelligent, thoughtful, self-possessed people have turned 18 in the past two years and now have the right and privilege to make their vote count. But first you need to register, which is quick and easy to do. October 9th is the LAST DAY to register to vote in the state of TN. Go to vote.org and you can find all the info. Happy Voting!

泰勒斯在文中提到要為LGBT團體的權力鬥爭，任何對於性取向或是性別上的歧視都是錯誤的，並稱共和黨在田納西州的候選人，先前在國會投票反對女性同工同酬，甚至在「反對暴力侵害婦女行為法」的議題上，投下反對票；這名候選人認為企業有權拒絕提供同性戀者任何的服務，讓她非常驚愕。最後泰勒斯還不忘呼籲所有歌迷，趕快去進行註冊並投票。
此外，歌手蕾哈娜、饒舌歌手特拉維斯•斯科特（Travi$ Scott）、曾擔任影集《花邊教主》主角的布蕾克•萊芙莉（Blake Ellender Brown）、喜劇演員艾米•舒默（Amy Beth Schumer）等名人，也都在社交軟體上，呼籲美國人民在11月6日時，要記得去投票。
