2023年的長假不少，但是補上班日也隨之增多。部分企業在反應工作時程受到影響的同時，也表示補班日的工作效率與效能有時真的會不太一樣。在這樣的考量下，政府調整了明年補班與補假的規範，從中有許多toeic英文，學習了之後也方便與外籍員工布達交流。
Staff Announcement: Update on Holiday and "Make-Up" Day Policy for 2024
Dear Team,
We wish to inform you about some changes to the holiday policy for 2024 based on the recent guidelines released by the Directorate-General of Personnel Administration (DGPA):
The number of "make-up" days, where staff has to work or attend classes after a holiday, has been reduced to only one day in 2024.
The total days off and extended weekends in 2024 will be slightly fewer than in 2023.
The concept of "make-up" days is being redefined. Instead of a fixed make-up day for long holidays, we will adopt a flexible approach, limiting to one fixed make-up day per year.
The single "make-up" day in 2024 will be on Saturday, February 17, following the Lunar New Year holiday (Feb. 8-14). This arrangement aims to add an extra day to the Lunar New Year break.
The total days off for 2024 is set at 115 days, which is one day less than 2023.
Extended public holidays in 2024 will include Founding Day, Lunar New Year, Children's Day/Tomb Sweeping Holiday, and the Dragon Boat Festival. However, the 228 Peace Memorial Day (Feb. 28), Mid-Autumn Festival (Sept. 17), and National Day (Oct. 10) will be observed on weekdays without extension to nearby weekends.
Announcement 公告
announce是公告的動詞，來自於a- (to...)與noun (名詞)，把事情說出來當然就是公告，加上-ment則成為名詞。

Policy政策
公司與政府的政策都是使用這個字，制定政策者直接在後方加上maker就可以了。

公司的遠程工作政策已被更新以提供更大的靈活性。
Every new employee receives a handbook detailing the company's policies and procedures.
每位新員工都會收到一本詳細說明公司政策和程序的手冊。
Guidelines 指導方針
Guide是引導，用來引導的條文就是指導方針。
The health department issued guidelines for maintaining safety during the pandemic.
衛生部門發布了在大流行期間維持安全的指導方針。
Please follow the guidelines outlined in the document while submitting your report.
提交報告時，請遵循文檔中概述的指導方針。
Administration 管理
Administer是管理、治理的意思，管理人為administrator，而administration除了當名詞之外也可以用來指管理層的整體。
The company is looking to hire someone with experience in business administration.
該公司希望聘請有商業管理經驗的人。
The school administration has decided to introduce new courses next semester.
學校管理層已決定下學期引入新課程。
"Make-Up" Days 補班/課日
Definition: Additional days on which employees work or students attend classes, typically to compensate for holidays or days off.
Make-up可用於任何補上的意思，例如補考、化妝、補償、補班、補課等都可以。
Due to the snowstorm, the school has scheduled two make-up days next month.
由於暴風雪，學校已安排了下個月的兩天補課。
Employees can choose their preferred make-up days for the extended holiday.
員工可以選擇他們喜歡的補班日以延長假期。
Extended Weekends長週末
extend是延長，延長的週末就是透過假期調整之後所產生的長週末了，比較簡單的說法也可以說成long weekend。
Many employees are planning short trips for the extended weekend next month.
許多員工計劃下個月的長週末進行短途旅行。
The company has given an extended weekend as a reward for meeting the quarterly targets.
公司獎勵達到季度目標的員工一個長週末。
Flexible Approach 有彈性的方法
Flex是彎曲的意思，可以彎曲當然就表示「有彈性的」，approach當成動詞是接近，當成名詞在商業的世界中意思通常是手段或方案。
The manager's flexible approach to problem-solving has been beneficial for the team.
經理靈活的解決問題的方法對團隊很有益。
A flexible approach in the project will allow for changes based on customer feedback.
專案中的彈性方案將允許根據客戶反饋進行更改。
Arrangement 安排
Definition: A plan or preparation for a future event or process.
原型動詞為arrange，加上ment則為名詞。插花就是flower arrangement。
The arrangement for the annual conference is being finalized by the events team.
活動團隊正在確定年度會議的安排。
